User Interface Design
The design of the user interface can determine a project’s success; does it tell the right story to the right audience? Does it inspire the desired user action? This is where the foundational work of the research, strategy, and user experience design come together.
User interface design does not mean just applying a visual aesthetic to a user experience plan. The designer Kit Hinrichs said it best — “We are in the communication business, not the style business.” A solution may look cool or beautiful, but if it does not communicate the right information to the right audience, it will have failed.
Effective modern user interface design is multi-dimensional. It needs to define not just the visual design characteristics of the different elements of the interface, but also the dynamic responses and behaviors triggered by user interactions. These details help make the user experience both appealing and intuitive.
