Design Research
Design research and discovery establishes the foundation for all the work that follows in a project. This important work ensures that the solution approach is aligned to audience needs and business objectives.
The depth of this research can range from a single kickoff meeting to discuss goals and requirements to multi-week series of interviews with stakeholders and audience members. In projects that follow the Agile methodology, it is typical for research cycles to occur multiple times during development to test out prototypes and adjust direction as needed. My expertise includes formal training in the facilitation of user experience design workshops, and in addition to in-depth discovery workshops, I have organized and conducted numerous focus group and one-on-one usability testing sessions.
